The first LP-length studio concept album by Density512, Akousmatika explores what sound teaches us about our relationship with the physical world and ourselves. The album features Density512-commissioned works by Kevin Michael Kay, and Chiyoko Slzavnics and revivals of experimental classics by influential voices from the 16th Century to today (Pauline Oliveros, Ben Johnston, Nicola Vicento). Akousmatika will be recorded in part with a live audience; Density512 will host live Deep Listening sessions in locations throughout the natural landscape in Central Texas.
