Density512 is a chamber orchestra and collective of brave and open musicians who champion contemporary programming. We tell stories through imaginatively curated experiences, amplify the voices of groundbreaking and emerging artists, and cultivate interdisciplinary collaborations.
Through his work with Density512, Jacob directs, performs, and produces live events at the intersection of music, multimedia, and interdisciplinary storytelling. Since 2017 Density512 has given more than 30 world premieres, served over 8,000 live attendees, and reached over 100,000 people through radio and television performances.

MoonFall is a new immersive and interactive mythic fantasy ballet that explores desire, climate change, community, and our relationship with the cosmos. At times poignant and at others delightful, MoonFall tells a story of the Sun and Moon’s dualistic orbit and the humans whose movements push and pull on their natural world. MoonFall is the brainchild of international dancer, choreographer, and producer Dorothy O’Shea Overbey and award-winning cinematic composer Sam Lipman.
Bask in art-pop glamor on Halloween weekend at The Björk Songbook! This special collaboration between Inversion Ensemble and Density512 pays tribute to legendary Icelandic singer Björk with freshly reimagined versions of her most beloved songs including Venus As a Boy, Hidden Place, It’s Oh So Quiet, Human Behaviour and more – all set for voices and chamber orchestra by local Austin composers. The two performances will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin.

A new opera by Austin-based composer Thomas Yee and librettist Aiden Feltkamp, Eva and the Angel of Death portrays the true story of Eva Mozes Kor, a child survivor of the Holocaust and Josef Mengele’s medical experiments. World premiere at Austin Central Library, Austin, TX, in May 2022.
Curated programming for Fast Forward Austin’s 2018 new music festival centering on the story of Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage whose mathematical work gave rise to mid-19th Century mechanical computing. Commissioned new orchestration of Kenneth Froehlich’s Finite Differences. Nominated for Austin Critics Table Award.
A tale of monarchy, madness, anachronism, and palace intrigue. Peter Maxwell Davies’s masterpiece of musical-monodrama Eight Songs for a Mad King, motets from Musica quince vocum attributed to the princess nun Leonore D’Este, and Davies’s Tenabrae Super Gesualdo.
